SCHOOL CHALLENGE

Sunshine School Challenge

Sun Prairie schools have been invited to join with Sunshine Place in their 3rd Anniversary celebration as participants of the "Sunshine Challenge." The Sunshine Challenge is a contest between schools to collect food and donations to benefit the Sun Prairie Emergency Food Pantry.

This year's goal is to raise a total of 60,000 pounds (equal to 30 tons) of much needed food! The Bank of Sun Prairie is providing scholarship monies for the top 4 winning schools--with a grand prize of $1,000 to the school who collects the most food and donations!! The top school fundraiser will also receive a school party as a thank you for their help.

Each participating school will have a designated week to collect food and donations for the Food Pantry. The Sunshine Challenge begins on March 1st and ends April 10th. After April 10th, winners will be declared, notified and invited to the Sunshine Place 3rd Anniversary Celebration for Award presentation by the Bank of Sun Prairie and Sunshine Place Board.

The Food Pantry will track and post results on our website, so be sure to check back regularly for updates and photos throughout the Challenge.

Brownie Troop 2495 recently visited the Pantry where they received a tour of the facility and helped to stock personal care items. This happened as a result of the members of Troop 2495 initiating this volunteer project on their own in support of the Sun Prairie Emergency Food Pantry. Not only did they help to stock shelves, but they also brought in food and cash donations that they collected on behalf of the Pantry. Jeanette Juetten, a troop leader, shared, "They can be quite an amazing group of third graders." We agree!!! Thanks so much for your support!!
