Food Service FAQs

If you need help, we are here for you. All are welcome, regardless of where you live.

Who can use the pantry?

To use the full services of the pantry, your combined household income must be equal to or less than the amount shown on the TEFAP table below. This includes residents outside of Sun Prairie. If you do not meet these income guidelines, but still need help, you may still use the food pantry. While you will not be eligible to receive the government commodity (TEFAP) items, we will do our best to provide the food and personal care items that you need.

How often can I use the food pantry?

Sun Prairie Food Pantry welcomes your visits every 14 days.

What is available at the food pantry?

Healthy food options like fresh vegetables, fruit, cereal, meat, milk, cheese, bread, kid’s snacks, juice, eggs, and senior boxes. We also have personal care items such as feminine hygiene products, diapers, soaps, and more.

How does the process work?

Effective Tuesday, July 12, 2022 clients can come inside the Food Pantry to shop.

What if I cannot physically get to the food pantry?

We encourage senior citizens who cannot get to the food pantry to use a proxy shopper to get their food. Seniors who do not have anyone to access the pantry should call: (608) 478-0510.

What are the eligibility guidelines for senior boxes?

Senior citizens ages 60 and older can receive a senior box. To receive senior boxes you must be 60 or older and meet a monthly income requirement of 130% at or below the federal poverty level, so $1,473 for one person or $1,984 for 2 people.
