The elementary school that donated the most food to the Sun Prairie Food Pantry as a part of the 2019 Bank of Sun Prairie School Food Challenge was Horizon Elementary.

The elementary school that donated the most food to the Sun Prairie Food Pantry as a part of the 2019 Bank of Sun Prairie School Food Challenge was Horizon Elementary. The students collected in food and money, the equivalent of just over 20,000 pounds of food. As a result, the school was awarded $1,000 from Jimmy Kauffman from the Bank of Sun Prairie, the traveling trophy and a free sundae coupon for each student from Duane Sprecher at Culvers.

Now for the real winner, our community! Not only will those struggling with food insecurity benefit, the schools have incorporated kindness into their curriculum and the students are learning the value of helping others at a very early age.

Congratulations to Horizon and all the elementary schools for your generosity!

In addition to Horizon's Award of $1,000 for donating the most food to the Pantry, the Bank of Sun Prairie donated $500 to 3 schools that were randomly selected from all the elementary schools. Pictured above is Northside (Top); Eastside (Bottom Left) and Token Springs (Bottom Right).

The Food Pantry is grateful for the longstanding partnership with the schools and the bank. " Individually we do good, together we do great!"
