Over half of those using the Sun Prairie Emergency Food Pantry are youths and seniors. These two groups are typically the most vulnerable to food insecurity in our community.
In an effort to address a segment of this population, the Food Pantry, working in collaboration with the State of Wisconsin and the Community Action Coalition is please to make available Senior Boxes at the Food Pantry. Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) works to improve the health of low-income adults ages 60 years and older by supplementing their diets with nutritious foods.
A senior box is available to anyone residing in Dane County who is at least 60 years of age and their gross income is at or below 130% of the poverty level.
Eligible participants can obtain this box of nutritious food once every 30 days at the Sun Prairie Emergency Food Pantry.
VERY IMPORTANT: Participation in this program does not affect ability to also receive food through the Pantry once every 30 days.
